OUR MISSION

New motherhood should be the most joyful time in a woman’s life. But today’s pregnant women and new mothers are often lonely, worried and overwhelmed. Postpartum depression is the most common complication of pregnancy and it can make moms feel like they are locked away in a dark cellar. Women might experience overwhelming depression, anxiety or even psychosis. Most cases can be prevented or treated without medications; helping women to safely overcome these issues and get on with life.

WellPostpartum Consulting offers programs that help pregnant women avoid postpartum depression, and non-drug methods for women who are suffering. We are a professional service, a caring support option and an educational resource for mothers who care about their mental and emotional wellness.

We believe very mother deserves to be fully educated on postpartum depression treatment and the value of proper nutrition. The links between functional nutrition and mental health are clear. Incorporating optimal nutrition into women’s lives during the reproductive year is remarkably important. The many barriers to optimal nutrition should be addressed during pregnancy, or as soon as possible.

A common mistake women make is to trust their diet and a prenatal vitamin to provide the health necessary to bring a child into the world. The secret to balanced reproductive moods includes finding proper sources of energy; from foods and supplements, healthy relationships and support groups, being in nature; and exercise. If a woman is struggling, WellPostpartum Consulting can help identify red flags so mood issues do not become medical or psychological emergencies.

The most important things we want to leave you with are: you are not alone; it is not your fault; and you can experience greatness as a mother.

“Cheryl’s advice and personal commitment saved my life.”

As an African American mother of two girls 13 months apart in age, postpartum depression almost stole my life. After my second child, I fell into a hole the size of Earth. I was spiraling out of control. Talking with a “crazy doctor” was a real stretch because historically we didn’t seek psychological advice, and PPD wasn’t something that was talked about in African American families.

I took to the internet to find something different. I sent Cheryl an email and she called me within a couple of hours. She asked about my history, the birth; and how I was currently. We set up a meal plan, schedule and nutritional supplementation.

She called me every day and helped get my body back in check. Cheryl’s advice and personal commitment saved my life. Her soothing voice, caring heart and thirst for knowledge about PPD made a difference for me…I pray that you allow her the opportunity to help you as well.

“My first consultation with Cheryl changed my life!”

“When I reached out to Cheryl after 2 months of postpartum anxiety, I was starting to lose hope that I would ever return to the ‘old me’.

I had been trying natural remedies for stress and anxiety and then turned to my OB and was given a prescription, but still felt anxious, panicky, and sad frequently throughout the day. Cheryl had insight and suggestions right away that I had not found in talking with any of my health care providers. Best of all, they worked.

After less than one week, I felt much better than I had in months. After a few weeks, the panic was gone. Best of all, she helped me give my children their mother back.”
K. G., mother of two, New Hampshire
